I try to get children involved wherever possible in activities such as recycling, cooking and gardening and to promote their awareness of green issues.
I have a comprehensive range of toys and equipment to suit all needs and ages and stage of development to include construction toys, Lego, puzzles, craft materials, art, drawing, home corner / role play toys, farm, garage, dolls, games, dressing up, educational activities, musical instruments and worksheets for the older child.
I find that by engaging in conversation and playing with the children I can
help them to learn and acquire a variety of skills, whilst having fun.
A large secure garden comprising of grassed lawn with a trampoline,
swing/see-saw, basketball post, swing ball, racket/ball games. We also
have a patio area with sand/water table and room for trikes and ride
alongs.
A child’s day will include a full structured activity, crafts, cutting and sticking, painting, dough, cooking, and music etc.
Time is also set aside for physical play and free play, with a range of toys to stimulate the imagination, challenge the child intellectually and encourage independence in learning.
We also visit the local parks and Childminding group.
Children have access to all the toys and equipment themselves. They are encouraged to select for themselves and put away when finished or wanting to move onto something new.
